The ABLE Way
Personalized Instruction for Academic Success

Advancing Black Lives in Education, Inc. (ABLE) has developed "The ABLE WAY," a comprehensive, free instructional program tailored to meet each student's unique learning needs. The program is designed to provide personalized educational support that builds a strong academic foundation.

The ABLE WAY is guided by Interventionists, our trained volunteers, who use a variety of research-based intervention programs. Each student's program is customized based on assessment data that identifies areas needing more intensive instruction, allowing Interventionists to focus on strategies that will best support the student’s learning.
Individualized Learning Plans
Each student receives a personalized instructional plan based on their specific academic needs. Assessment data guides the development of lessons that target areas for growth and ensure alignment with state curriculum standards.
1:1 Online Instruction
Our program is designed for online learning, offering students one-on-one instruction with an ABLE Interventionist. This personalized approach ensures that each student receives the attention and support they need to succeed.
Trained Interventionists
Our ABLE Interventionists are trained to provide intervention instruction with fidelity. Each instructor undergoes a thorough background check to ensure a safe and secure learning environment for all students. To learn more about our commitment to safety, click here.
The ABLE WAY delivers instruction three times a week, with 20-25 minute sessions spread over 36 weeks during the academic school year. This consistent and focused approach helps reinforce skills and encourages steady academic progress. We also currently offer in-person programs for students in Montgomery County, Maryland.
